Outages Possible, Tractor Trailer Downs Power Lines In East Rutherford: FD

A tractor-trailer collided with a utility pole, causing a power line emergency in East Rutherford Monday, Jan. 6, authorities said.

The incident occurred on Whelan Road, and prompted an immediate response from both local first responders and PSEG crews, who are working to de-energize the affected power lines, the fire department said.

The utility work may result in power outages for residents in the surrounding area. Officials are urging drivers to avoid Whelan Road while emergency crews manage the scene.
